Our View
At Cottontail Cottage we understand that each child has unique needs and interests. We encourage children to learn through play and we provide the environment and tools your child needs to thrive to the best of their abilities.
When we expose children to different environments and various learning experiences, we allow them to explore their self-awareness and gain a sense of the world around them. Equipped with the right tools they will be fully prepared for the next stage of their young lives.
What we offer
LOCATION
Located in central Durbanville just a hop away from major Durbanville schools, we offer full day fun for kids 3 months to 5 year old.
IMAGINATIVE PLAY
In the land of rabbits, wizards and fairies, ideas are encouraged to run wild and limited only by your little one's own imagination.
Note: All Superheroes are welcome.
OUTDOOR PLAY
There is something for everyone, no matter what your child's preference from cars to kitchens they are sure to find something that will blow them away.
About me
I have been a teacher for most of my life.
Starting in my parents’ garage at the age of 5, with a huge green chalkboard and full classes, I remember teaching all the kids in the street.
My professional journey started after school when I decided to study at Stellenbosch and obtain my teaching degree. After my first year it all changed – I was not sure if I wanted to teach anymore, so I took a break and decided to become a Chef instead. What an exciting journey, but deep inside me something lingered, I needed to be more, I wanted to help more. After finishing my Chef course, I returned Stellenbosch and completed my teaching degree in education as well a honours degree in special needs education.
Its been a life long dream to one day teach at my own school, today this dream is becoming a reality.
As a mother myself, I want to create Cottontail Cottage to be a friendly space that I would want to send my own child to, the home away from home.
As a teacher, with more than 12 years' experience, I want to create a safe space to develop, through play, your little ones' physical and mental abilities to prepare them for the future, and become the best version of themselves they can be.
